Who Calls Tefillin “Phylacteries?”

Jeremy Shuback, BimBam’s animation director, goes off on a nerdy Jewish rant about the dictionary definition of tefillin. Tefillin are a set of small black leather boxes containing scrolls of parchment inscribed with verses from the Torah. It is often wore by observant Jewish adults during weekday morning prayer services. It is a mitzvah, or a commandment to wear tefillin.
